Solve 11 - 1/2y = 3 + 6x for y

Subtract 11 from each side so we can isolate the y term:
11 -11 - 1/2y = 3 + 6x - 11

Cancelling the 11's on the left side, we get:
-1/2y = 6x - 8 <-- Since 3 - 11 = -8

Multiply both sides of the equation by -2 to remove the -1/2 on the left side:
-2(-1/2)y = -2(6x - 8)

Simplifying, we get:
y = -12x + 16
