A certain type of an elephant would weigh 8 to 12 tons. How many pounds would it weigh?

1 ton = 2000 pounds.

8 tons = 8 * 2000 = 16000 pounds
12 tons = 12 * 20000 = 24000 pounds

So the elephant weighs between 16000 and 24000 pounds
